Bearings: The Issue of Overheating

Industrial roller bearings are quite sensitive to high temperatur es and hence, bearings in varied operating temperatures need different kinds of greasing, oiling and use of synthetic oils. In fact, overheating of bearings is probably

the most common reason for the break down of a machinery using bearings as overheating dries up the grease and eventually leads to the shut down of machinery. Over lubrication or mixture of incompatible greases can also harm the overall viscosity and consistency of bearings. In certain cases when the temperature reaches at abnormally high levels, synthetic oils are put to use. These maintain the heat levels within the machinery and reduce the oxidation levels too.
