Dry Heat Sterilization

Amongst the most ancient technique of sterilization is the dry heat sterilization technique. This method makes use of vapor less, or minimum hot air and where moisture is absent or very less. Gravity convection and mechanical convection methods are two hot-air convection processes. Dry heat sterilization technique is highly preferred for killing microorganisms because it solidifies the proteins in any organism, dries the cells and can even burn them.

Gravity Convection Process

When air gets heated up, it gets augmented and acquires less density as compared to cold air. Hence, it results in the rise of hot air and shifting of the cooler air. Dry heat gravity convection generates irregular temperatures inside the chamber and thus gives a restricted turnover.

Mechanical Convection Process

Mechanical convection process is accomplished in an oven, which include in it a blower. This blower compels the heated air throughout the chamber. The blower creates such a flow that their is balanced assignment of heat and uniform temperature is maintained. This is the main reason, mechanical convection oven is considered more effective than gravity convection process.

Sterilization is any kind of process that is aimed at eliminating or neutralizing these harmful pathogens from any kind of surface, food item, medical equipment or any other material. Thanks a lot...
