Door latches and how a draw latch works

A latch fastens or joins two objects while permitting the regular separation of the objects joined. It is a component of door hardware which may or may not have a lock with key system. The one with locking system is a bit complicated and can be opened from outside with a key. Different types of door latches are available and choosing the right one ideal for any application is important. Installing a latch inside the home makes you secure and handy. Whether it is a side door, main door or cabinet door, a latch is being used for maintaining privacy and also prevents intrusion.

 
The center of the draw latch comprises of different part which includes a panel, lever, spring and keeper. The union of all the components keep the latch shut. When the latch connects; the spring indicates the keeper to draw adverse panels together. The lever connects with the keeper which establishes a locking action. When it is closed; the latch bars the panel movements.
