Rubber conveyor belt refers to a continuous loop of a flat rubber belt rotating on two parallel pulleys. Most often one of these pulleys is powered which makes the belt move forward thus also making the material kept on the belt move forward too. The powered pulley is called the drive pulley and the non-powered pulley is called the idler. The Moving belt also consists of two layers the lower one called carcass which provides strength to the entire belt while the upper one called the cover. Rubber conveyor belts are extensively used for bulk material handling at various industries, airports, grocery stores etc.
