A switch is the basic requirement for turning the power of the pump on and off. Small pumps or the pumps which do not use high power can be controlled by a normal switch but big pumps such as irrigation pumps, use high voltage and as a result need a big switch which can manage high amperes of voltage and is safe to handle. Big switch must have the capacity to take care of load sufficiently. Many users often replace the control of the pump with automatic switch which do not require manual handling. Pump control circuits use a relay circuit which makes the user stay at a distance from the pump voltage.
