Submersible Pumps

Submersible pump also known as electric submersible pump(ESP), is a machine which includes a hermetically sealed motor, close to the body of the pump. The complete body of the pump is dunk in liquid which is to be pumped. Pump cavitation is a common problem which arises when there is huge elevation difference between pump and the fluid surface, but submersible pumps help in preventing this problem. Being more effective as compared to jet pumps, these efficient pumps push water to the surface, whereas jet pumps pull water.

Application Of Single Stage Submersible Pumps
  • Drainage
  • Sewage pumping
  • General industrial pumping
  • Slurry pumping
Application Of Multiple Stage Submersible Pumps
  • Water abstraction
  • Water wells
Submersible pumps are also used in oil production because they facilitate comparatively adequate model of 'artificial lift', which is able to work over a huge range of flow rates and depths. To know if submersible is the most efficient pump for draining oil from the well, read here..
